Championship duo Derby and Rotherham set to bid for Iron star

Championship sides Derby County and Rotherham United are reportedly readying a bid to prise Duane Holmes away from Glanford Park.

News outlet HITC Sport revealed the damning news late on Tuesday, with the deadline for permanent deals drawing closer.

Clubs have until 5pm on Thursday to conclude any permanent deals, which should hopefully mean both club’s are up against time, and a Chairman who won’t sell on the cheap.

It would take a big bid for the Iron to consider letting one of their star players leave this late into the transfer window, despite Holmes only having a year left on his contract.

Scunthorpe director, and son of chairman Peter Swann, Chris Swann, tweeted that it would take a ‘large bid’ for the club to listen to offers.
