The Iron are close to agreeing a deal which would see centre back George Taft join on a permanent deal from Bolton Wanderers, following his impressive loan so far.
The defender joined on loan in early January, and has been a huge part of an Iron side that has turned their season around, following three wins in six days last week.
In those three wins United didn’t concede once, and Taft was absolutely pivotal in that being the case.
The news comes from a BBC Humberside tweet, suggesting the loan is close to being turned into a permanent deal:
Taft’s partnership with Manny Onariase is starting to blossom, and Iron fans will be eager to see that continue.
But with the news of his potential signature, is it a signal of intent for what the club have in store for the remainder of this season, but more importantly, our ambitions for the next?
Excitingly, Taft will now hopefully be changing his geolocation settings to send him Scunthorpe-bound.
In other deadline day news, the club have been reported as also being on the hunt for a striker, so it could yet be an interesting day ahead.
One thing is for sure, Peter Swann loves a January transfer deadline day, doesn’t he?
