It’s the news Scunthorpe fans have been waiting for all season: Kevin van Veen is back.
The Dutchman suffered a knee injury in late-August, which originally looked like it would keep the forward on the sidelines until potentially the new year.
But Kev’s determination to get back to fitness has gone far quicker than anyone could have anticipated, and miraculously, he could make his first appearance of the season as soon as this Saturday, according to BBC Humberside.
The Iron have been rocked by a Coronavirus outbreak in the camp recently, with us missing our last three league games.
It is Solihull who travel to North Lincolnshire this weekend for the FA Cup first round fixture, and although we sit a league above the Midlands side, the betting apps with cash out are predicting an upset.
Despite that, if KVV is fit enough to feature, it will be a huge boost to the team, and hopefully we can then avoid the embarrassment of losing to a side from non league.
The worry, though, is that we have rushed the Dutchman back to fitness too soon, and we could aggravate his knee once again.
