He may not have always been a fan favourite whilst at Scunthorpe, but Charlie Goode’s remarkable season has gotten even better as two Championship clubs chase his signature.
Goode captained his Northampton side to promotion to League One via the Play Offs just last month, earning a raft of personal club awards in the process for his heroics.
He left United last summer, joining the Cobblers on an ‘undisclosed fee’, and it is unknown yet whether Peter Swann slipped a sell-on clause in on the transfer.
But, the defender lost the respect of many Iron fans when his play acting got Kevin van Veen sent off in the away fixture last season – a red card that was later overturned.
His more-than impressive during the last campaign has not gone unnoticed, with QPR and Middlesbrough more than just interested, with both having already made firm bids.
It is thought that Northampton are holding out for £750,000 for Goode, but the first offers from the Championship side’s are not a million miles off of that mark.
