Scunthorpe keen to bring ‘the shop’ to the SVS

The Iron look set to tempt Shrewsbury Town striker Lenell John-Lewis to the club during the January window, a report states.

The Shropshire Star claim the 30-year-old is likely to leave Salop during the window, and are led to believe that Paul Hurst is at the front of the queue to sign him.

Hurst worked with the shop during his time at Grimsby, and would be the third player to sign from Shrewsbury since he took over.

John-Lewis has missed a large chunk of the last year or so with an ACL injury, but is now almost back at full fitness, and certainly ready to kick on.

Shrewsbury manager Sam Ricketts said: “Lenny, as you would expect, has had interest from other clubs.

“I think he’s just digesting that at the minute and seeing what will happen over the next week or so.”

We expect movement on this one, so we will bring you an update when it is available.
