Scunthorpe United are on the verge of announcing the loan signing of Chelsea youngster Ike Ugbo, according to a report.
The link comes via a report in The Sun newspaper, who claim Ugbo will be announced by the Iron before this weekend’s game against Accrington Stanley.
Ugbo is the second player to be linked with a loan move to Stuart McCall’s side in the past day, with Glasgow Rangers goalkeeper Jak Alnwick also reportedly on his way to Glanford Park.
The forward spent the first half of last season on loan with then-Championship side Barnsley, before heading to MK Dons for the remainder of the campaign.
Ugbo has played frequently for England’s under 17s and 20s, in the past.
According to The Sun, “He is regarded as one the club’s most promising prospects after his goals helped them to capture several trophies, including the Uefa Youth League.”
Expect movement on the two touted loan deals within the next couple of days.
