The Iron are on the verge of announcing James Perch as their latest recruit, according to a report.
The news comes via the ever-reliable ‘Pete O’Rourke’, who posted the following to his Twitter account:
Scunthorpe are set to sign former QPR defender James Perch on a free transfer. #iron #QPR #Scunthorpe

The 32-year-old, although primarily a right back, is described as versatile and capable of filling in, in a host of positions across the defence and midfield.
Perch was with QPR from 2015 until this summer, making over 80 league appearances for the club.
He had been on trial with Wigan Athletic for a chunk of the summer, but the Championship side opted not to offer Perch a contract.
The defender has played Premier League football with Newcastle, and will bring a wealth of experience into a currently fairly unexperienced United side.
