Iron unveil Southampton striker as first summer signing

Scunthorpe announced the arrival of Southampton youngster Olufela Olomola as their first signing of the summer transfer window.

It may be less than a week since the heartbreak at the New York stadium, but the Iron have wasted no time in making Olomola their first new signature.

It was announced on Friday that Tom Hopper would leave the club after his contract ends, and with Ivan Toney returning to Newcastle United after his loan spell, United are left with only Lee Novak and Kyle Wootton as strikers under contract for next season.

The 20-year-old signs a three-year-deal, and joins having scored seven goals in 21 games whilst on loan at League Two side Yeovil Town last season.

The club created this YouTube video, showcasing his talent:

Welcome aboard Olufela, we look forward to seeing you in action. #UTI
