It may only be two days since it was announced that the Iron had sacked Graham Alexander, but it seems we may be in for a quick appointment.
Nick Daws and Andy Dawson will be in temporary charge, BBC Humberside journalist Mike White announced – but Peter Swann will want a permanent man in place for the remaining six games sooner, rather than later.
Scunthorpe chairman Peter Swann has told me, as expected, Nick Daws will take caretaker charge of the team from tomorrow, assisted by Andy Dawson who moves back up temporarily from the under-18s. #sufc— Mike White (@mikewhitesport) March 25, 2018
The duo look almost certs to be in charge on Friday for the trip to Oxford United – a game that is being shown live on Sky Sports – even if a new manager is announced before then.
Steve Cotterill was installed as the early heavy favourite, and remains available as low as 13/8 with Sky Bet.
However, Monday morning saw Grant McCann become the new odds on favourite, with an available price of of 11/10 right now.
Nick Daws is currently 6/1, with Uwe Rosler at 10/1 to complete a top four the bookies believe are in the running for the vacant job.
