Scunthorpe United and Graham Alexander were handed a boost when the Iron manager revealed the injury he sustained on Saturday was not as bad as first feared.
The attacker was a second half substitute, but left the pitch in tears, holding his hamstring.
After the game, Alexander had told the Scunthorpe Telegraph that the injury may be season-ending, but those raw fears may have been premature.
“Luke had a scan and it is a lot better than we first thought,” Alexander said.
“We thought he had done his hamstring but it was the scar tissue that had formed over the last six seven months that had torn.
“That will keep him out for two to three weeks but it is a good thing in the long run.
“It needed to get broken down anyway but ideally we would have liked to do that in the summer.
“He will be fit again this season which is better than what we first feared so hopefully that news will have perked him up a bit.”
