The Iron have released an image of the special edition kit that will be worn for Saturday’s Sky Bet League One encounter with Rotherham United.
A club announcment said: “The strip mirrors the style of the 2017-18 home and away shirts but will be Molten Orange and Cool Navy in colour, which are British Steel’s brand colours.
“Saturday’s fixture has been dedicated as a British Steel Family Day, with family members of British Steel employees involved in the match day as flagbearers, in addition to a mascot. Volunteers will also be collecting donations for British Steel’s Community Partner, Lindsey Lodge Hospice.
“The club have been able to make a limited number of the shirts available to purchase from the Scunthorpe United store in person or online at sufcshop.com.
“These will go on sale from 8.30am on Thursday 8th February. Priced at £39.95 for adults and £34.95 for junior sizes, the shirts will be available in sizes Small to 2XL in adult sizes and also in Age 8 or Age 12 in junior sizes.
“There will be 175 shirts available in total over the sizes. The match worn shirts will also be auctioned off at a later date to raise money for British Steel’s chosen charity, Lindsey Lodge Hospice with full details announced later in the season.”
The shirt has received a mix reaction on social media so far, with a majority negative outcome so far.
