Graham Alexander has confirmed that the Iron are still yet to receive any formal bids for Hakeeb Adelakun, despite yet another club being linked to his signature.
Preston North End manager Alex Neil was present at Glanford park on Tuesday night, amid speculation he is tracking the tricky winger ahead of a move before the transfer deadline.
Hull, Crystal Palace, Barnsley and Sunderland were all linked with the youngster earlier in the window.
Despite having another club added to Adelakun’s list of admirers, Alexander has rushed to reassure Iron fans that they have received no bids for one of their star players.
“It is all speculation and we certainly haven’t had a bid from anybody and certainly not Preston, even though Alex was here the other day,” Alexander told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

“We will see how it pans out over the next few days as it is getting closer to the end of the window.
“I expect to have general interest in more than one of our players, but whether it is right for the club, the player and what we need, until get something official I can’t make any judgements.
“I don’t think there is a club in the Football League that has got a player that is unsaleable. That is the nature of football.
“It is a business as a well as a sport. I deal with the sport side of it and other people deal with the business side and together we make decisions that are best for the club.
“It is important we have a strong squad but it is also important for the club to be able compete financially, so we take all these things into account.
“Until somebody rings us up or sends us an official bid it is all speculation.”
