Church departs after his short-term contract ends

The Iron have announced that Simon Church has left the club, after his short-term contract ended at the weekend.

The striker made seven appearances in claret and blue, after signing a deal in October.

The move was one that benefitted both parties, as Church aimed to regain fitness after a long time out with injury.

The most significant moment for Church whilst with United was when he won a penalty in the 2-1 victory over Peterborough in late-October.

It is believed that Plymouth may make a move for the striker, now he is free to join a new club.

Church had been training with the Pilgrims before he opted to sign for Graham Alexander’s side.

Good luck Simon, we are sure you will have a new club in no time. #UTI
