It is being reported on Tuesday morning that the Iron are closing in on a deal to bring Burnley midfielder Aiden O’Neill to the club on loan.
The youngster was set to be with Fleetwood for the remainder of the season, where he has spent the opening month’s of the Sky Bet League One campaign, before the Clarets exercised a recall clause in the original deal.
O’Neill will be missing for the entirety of January, as he jets out to feature for the Australian Under 23s in the 2018 AFC U23 Championship.
Chris Boden of the Burnley Express was the first to reveal the Iron’s move, when he posted the following on Twitter:
