The Iron have been undoubtedly unlucky with injuries recently, but there is reason to celebrate, after it was announced that Luke Williams has stepped up his return to full fitness, by joining in with the first-team training sessions again.
Williams has been out since he picked up an injury with Northampton towards the end of last season, and has encountered countless setbacks since.
The 24-year-old’s last game in claret and blue was in the 4-1 Checkatrade trophy loss to Oxford United last season – a game he did score in, however.
Talking to the Scunthorpe Telegraph, Graham Alexander said: “Luke Williams is back in training today, which is a positive.
“Obviously with him being out a long, long time. It will likely take him a few weeks for him to get up to speed.”
Fingers crossed Luke can stay fit, and make himself available as we enter the second half of the season in a strong position.
