The Iron are believed to be readying a move to try and bring Newcastle United youngster Sean Longstaff to the club, on loan for the remainder of the season.
Longstaff is currently on-loan with Blackpool, and coincidentally was the Seasiders’ second goal scorer in yesterday’s 3-2 victory for United.
The Newcastle Chronicle are the news outlet reporting the Iron’s interest.
Six goals and six assists have meant the 20-year-old has been touted with a move to a club higher in the League One rankings – although the player has admitted in the past he would be happy to remain with Blackpool.
If Newcastle want to see their promising youngster playing in a side going all out for promotion, that would certainly do Graham Alexander’s chances of landing his target a huge boost.
