Scunthorpe’s January transfer target Eoin Doyle may be missing for months, after the striker suffered a blood clot, according to Daily Mail journalist Mike Keegan.
The Irish striker has endured a superb first half of the season, scoring 14 goals in 21 appearances for Oldham.
The rumour was that United had offered Preston £300,000 for the forward, whilst Graham Alexander also confirmed there was interest in the player shortly after the initial rumour – but didn’t discuss whether the club had actually made a move.
The injury revelation will be a huge blow to the 29-year-old, and will certainly mean that any interested parties will have to now look elsewhere for a goalscorer in January.
Hearing it’s dreadful news on Eoin Doyle for Oldham. Whispers of a blood clot and months rather than weeks. #oafc #cursed— Mike Keegan (@MikeKeegan_DM) December 27, 2017
If the news is true, we want to wish Doyle all the very best with his recovery. #UTI
