Iron captain Rory McArdle has been named in the 23-man Northern Ireland squad, for their World Cup Play Off match against Switzerland.
This will be the first time since 2016 that the centre back will link up with Michael O’Neill’s squad.
The Northern Ireland Twitter page announced the squad in the following post:
📣 Squad for our @FIFAWorldCup play-off against Switzerland 🇨🇭
🔍 Can you spot the familiar faces back in the line-up?❗

McArdle’s last appearance for his country was in 2014 when he played 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw against Israel, also a World Cup qualifier.
The bad news is that he will miss the home fixture against Bristol Rovers on Saturday, November 11th, as a result of the call up.
Good luck Rory. #UTI
