The Iron’s Tuesday opponents, Gillingham, have sacked Ady Pennock as manager of the club this morning.

The Gills have endured a torid start to their League One campaign, and only Plymouth and Oldham lie below them in the table.

Graham Alexander will therefore take his side to Gillingham tomorrow to face a managerless team, although an interim-manager is expected to be announced in a press release later on today.

Pennock isn’t the only League One manager to lose his job today, after Oldham Athletic announced the departure of John Sheridan by mutual consent.

United face Oldham at Boundary Park on October 28.
