Iron youngster Kyle Wootton has signed for Stevenage on loan until January 2018, the club have announced this evening.
Wootton had been expected to leave earlier in the summer, with Grimsby and Stevenage two clubs touted to be interested in signing the striker permanently.
Despite the links elsewhere, Wootton signed a new two-year deal with the Iron, in the hope he could push into the first team fold.
The 20-year-old’s first game for his new club could be against the side he spent time on loan with last season, Cheltenham – But he may not be fully fit in time, as he steps up his return from injury.
Good luck to Kyle, and we at Any Old Iron hope to see you back in January after scoring a hatful.
NEW SIGNING: @Kyle_Wootton_9 joins on loan as our second #DeadlineDay arrival.
