Syers in action for the Iron |
In the one piece of negative news over the Christmas period heavily praised on loan midfield Dave Syers was re-called by his parent club Doncaster Rovers. Dave had been a key part to the Iron’s upturn in form since Laws’ departure and has been scoring goals freely from midfield, something you fear no other midfielder on our books has the potential to do.
Whilst Laws was in charge Dave wasn’t played to his strengths and struggled to find the form he was clearly capable of. No-one could have expected the form he has hit since Russ took charge, and no-one could have imagined how much every Iron fan wants us to make him a permanent signing in the January transfer window, at all costs.
Syers played for Donny on his return in their 3-2 loss at home to Stevenage. It’s safe to say he didn’t play like he has been for the Iron and hopefully this will make up Paul Dickov’s mind and he will accept a fee which is almost certain to be made by us at some point.
Dave showed his potential aplenty and had tonnes of passion to match, a real all round team player. His passion for an on loan player was rare. We really really REALLY need to sign him up now and continue to set the league alight. We are on top now and it is ours to lose.
Come on Mr.Swann get us our man!
Up the Iron!
