Andy Dawson signs on, Former Scotland International Chris Iwelumo expected to follow suit

Andy playing in Iron colours during his previous stint at the club

So after weeks of speculation about whether ex-Iron player Andy Dawson would in fact rejoin the club where he kick started his career, the move was finalised yesterday.

Andy has joined on a 12 month contract running from June with the club also having the option of a further year should that be taken up come June 2014. Not only this but he will become a player coach for the Iron which means his experience will be used to bring along the younger members of our squad nicely.
If you check any Hull City article or forum where there is talk of Andy Dawson I guarantee you will only see heaps of praise placed on this mans head. He has achieved Hull City legend status and will be regarded as one of the most important players in their history after he oversaw their rise from the basement division to the top of the English game – The Premier League.
For me this is the best signing we could have asked for especially with Cliffy staying at Oldham so kudos points to Lawsy for making it happen.

There is a rumour floating around that Watford front man Chris Iwelumo will sign for us on Monday. I don’t want to say too much in case it doesn’t materialise but for me this would be a fantastic signing at League 2 level!
Finally 2 of the players who were said to have been offered a contract will almost certainly not be at the club next season. They are Jimmy Ryan (Chesterfield bound) and Tom Newey.
