What with Scunthorpe United only have 2 recognised centre-halves on the books – it seems to make perfect sense to farm out the only back up out on loan.
And despite his somewhat disappointing match-costing cameo away to Notts County – poor cover is better than no cover one feels, and we’ve gone from one to the other.
But hopefully you assume, this means that at least a couple of centre-halves are imminently placed to come in the building as Ashley Palmer has been announced to be leaving North Lincolnshire.
The 19 year old Scunthorpe YT Undergraduate, originally from Pontefract, has been announced to be joining Blue Square Premier side Southport on loan.
The Conference side from the North West Flyde Coast currently sit 8th in the table, chasing the play-offs: and Palmer will initially be on their books for one month, although if that original loan spell is successful – it’s expected that it’ll be extended to the rest of the season.
The centre-half will go straight into Southport’s squad for their Conference clash against the mighty Hayes & Yeading tomorrow afternoon.
