Just as we reported that he would here -> http://www.anyoldiron1.blogspot.com/2012/01/walker-in-nelson-out.html – Iron target Josh Walker has signed on the dotted line and officially become a Scunthorpe United player.
The Geordie born midfielder, still only 22 – will also go straight into the Iron’s squad for the League One clash away to Colchester United tommorow.
And despite the club tweeting otherwise, the move has taken place on a free transfer: with the former England youth international & youth captain, now on Scunny’s books having not cost the Iron a penny.
This is following his successful trial with us – and will be a welcome signing following Oliver Norwood’s return to Manchester United, and injuries to Oliver Norwood and Damien Mozika.
Despite only being 22, the Iron become his 8th club – following a whole host of loan spells at clubs as far apart as Aberdeen and Bournemouth!
Having spent time on loan at Stevenage previously this season, his sole goal of the campaign came against us at the Broadhall, so as it stands: he owes us a big favour!
And let’s just hope that we can all be impressed by his performances as much as the coaching staff have been by his training – hailing Walker as extremely good technically.
So here’s to Josh Walker and Scunthorpe United!
