The Iron’s ultimate consistent performer so far, Andy Wright has been rewarded with finding himself in the League One team of the week.
Scunny’s full-back, who can also play in the middle of the park, has been a near ever-present for Alan Knill’s North Lincolnshire side so far this season.
His performances in League One have been a rare glimmer of light defensive light in an otherwise incredibly disappointing season – with the Iron sat 5th bottom at Christmas.
But Andy’s season, and particularly his performance against Exeter on Saturday: has reached a nadir, and he’s been rewarded with finding himself in the NPower League One team of the week.
This was of course after his particularly impressive all-round display against Paul Tisdale’s men from Devon at St James’ Park at the wekeend.
This makes him the 3rd Iron player selected for the Team of the Week so far this season – following in the hallowed footsteps of Bobby Grant and Michael O’Connor.
Let’s hope Andy can keep up the good form and thrust the Iron forward, kicking and screaming, to points, goals, victories: and climbing up the bloody table.
