Scunthorpe United have once more announced the extension of Sam Johnstone’s loan spell with the club.
His stay with the Iron, on loan from parent club Manchester United – will now stretch till January 10th at the very earliest.
With the 18 year old stopper on a development-loan from Manchester United, all concerned parties come together once a month to decide whether or not to extend the loan.
And with the Preston-born keeper having done so well for Scunny in League One so far this season, it’s perhaps not a huge shock to see him hanging around for a little longer yet.
The England youth international was signed on loan by Knilly back in early September – and Sam has gone on to make 10 appearances in all competitions for us so far.
This is throughout his 3 month stay with us – despite having had a considerable spell out with injury, followed by deputy Sam Slocombe coming in and doing particularly well in his absence.
As such – wearing the Number 27. shirt for the Iron: the loan spell will now at least last 4 months.
So here’s hoping that it can be a particularly successful month for Sam Johnstone and Scunthorpe United, and that he’ll be successful enough to ensure that he’s here for many more to come in the near future.
Up the Iron!
