An away trip to perennial League Two underachievers Bradford City will be the Iron’s prize if Alan Knill’s men can progress into the 2nd Round of the FA Cup.
As Any Old Iron revealed here: http://anyoldiron1.blogspot.com/2011/11/cup-replay-scheduled-for-22nd.html – the replay clash with AFC Wimbledon has been scheduled for next Tuesday, and the currently managerless Bantams will be the rewards for the victor.
The West Yorkshire club, marooned at the bottom end of the basement division – despite their comparatively huge attendances: will be at home at Valley Parade for the game.
With Number 33 the Iron’s shared number with the Wombles’ – for the purpose of Sunday’s draw, it was pulled out the magic leather bag towards the back end of the draw.
The huge Valley Parade is the Bantams’ current home – and if the Iron were to beat AFC Wimbledon in the replay, then the trip to West Yorkshire would take place on Saturday 3rd December: with a 3pm kick off.
It would be the first time that the 2 sides will have locked horns since the 2005/6 League One season – when Dean Windass came off worse with a good old fashioned game long-clash with Andy Crosby.
Despite Deano finishing with a broken nose: and Crozzer with cuts and bruises aplenty – neither player was booked!
So let’s hope that the Any Old Iron team have the pleasure of having to write a further article on the released ticket information, a match preview – and even hopefully, a victorious game!
Now then, wouldn’t that be something……
Up the Iron!
Resign who?

Wouldn't mind a trip to the parade in fairness!

Yes – the Valley is a really nice ground, and it should be a banker Iron win. If we can get through!
