O’Connor’s last minute winner at KC.
Following his simply excellent performance for the Iron away to Stevenage at the weekend, Michael O’Connor has found his performance rewarded by the Football League.
Hang on, don’t get too excited there – it’s nothing particularly exotic!
Sadly he won’t be flying round the Bahamas, or meeting Eva Green any time soon – but it’s still well worth having.
With the Northern Irishman playmaker having performed admirable during the Iron’s 2-1 win away to Stevenage on Saturday, he’s been named in the League One team of the week.
The weekly Football League of the week award was in recognition of his all-round play at the Lamex Stadium, although no doubt helped by the key stoppage time goal: arguably the winning goal, for Alan Knill’s Claret & Blue men.
And let’s just hope that following the award and the deserved recognition – that the former Crewe man, who signed for the Iron a little over 2 years ago: will continue to be progressing leaps and bounds for the Mighty Scunthorpe United of North Lincolnshire!
With the ex-Lincoln City loanee also in the last year of his contract, it’s vital for the Iron’s fortunes this year that Michael is thriving: so let’s hope he can keep it up – if not improve. The same goes for the team as a whole.
Up the Iron!
